My Practice as an Educator

I graduated with First-Class Honours from a joint honours degree in Fine Art Textiles and Education in 2022. Through both my teaching practice and personal artistic development, I have explored diverse concepts that bridge creative experimentation with structured learning.

I design ambitious and engaging projects that align with syllabus requirements while incorporating cross-curricular connections and layered learning experiences. My approach centres on meaningful project planning that encourages critical thinking, technical skill development, and creative exploration.

I am passionate about wellbeing and have integrated aspects of SPHE into the art classroom through reflective and process-based artistic practices. I aim to create an environment where students feel supported, confident, and empowered to express themselves creatively while developing skills that extend beyond the art room.

My goal is to guide students in developing their creative voice and to foster resilience, curiosity, and confidence through art.

Art Practice & Professional Development

In my studio practice, I explore environmental, social, and psychological themes through storytelling and problem-solving. I work with fabric manipulation, organic materials, and digital media to investigate layered concepts and experimental processes.

Alongside this, I produce oil painting studies focused on seascapes, exploring movement, light, and atmosphere through observation and material exploration. My painting practice allows me to deepen my understanding of process and expression, which directly informs my teaching.

I am committed to continuing my academic development and intend to pursue a Master’s degree in painting to further strengthen my practice and expand opportunities to contribute to higher education in the future.
