Festina Lente provides a unique range of education services in equine care, equine therapy, horticulture and employment training. The service users we worked with were aged 18-21 and had mixed abilities with downs syndrome, hearing impairments and autism.

We worked alongside the service users to create a body of work, exploring different processes and collaborating an exhibition. We carried out collaborative painting, gathering research in Killruddery Gardens, photography, photo transfer, felting and tie dyeing.

Presentation on the Scheme

This presentation shows detailed learning content, visual aids, support studies and student's work.

After each lesson we carried out a reflection. This placement was an incredible experience and I am privileged to have had the opportunity to take part in it. I feel my time here really developed my teaching such that my understanding and empathy towards students grew. I also think that I discovered the importance of simplifying my lessons in my planning.
